IES Energy

Since its formation in 2008, the IES Energy Strategy Group has promoted to the Holyrood and the Westminster Governments that planning for energy in general and for the electricity system in particular must be based on sound engineering principles. This can only be achieved via an expert government body.

Their strategy report Engineering for Energy - a Proposal for Governance of the Energy System was published in 2018.

The group has benefited from support from power system engineers with the highest levels of competence.
