IChemE - Chemical Engineering for a Sustainable World

Chemical engineers are key to engineering a sustainable world. They work to address challenges for sustainable development in industrial sectors ranging from minerals processing to energy production to food and drink manufacture. They apply systems thinking, process safety practices and digital technologies, and integrate science-based expertise and engineering knowledge and practice in interdisciplinary collaborations. Their innovative work delivers products and solutions that meet societies’ needs safely, while using energy and resources efficiently and also minimising adverse effects on the environment.

The webinar builds on IChemE’s report ‘Engineering a Sustainable World: The Chemical Engineering Challenge’, which explains how chemical engineers create societal benefits and help meet the challenges of the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
