Pioneering forging research hub puts Scotland at the forefront of advanced engineering

Scotland’s reputation as a beacon of manufacturing and engineering innovation has been cemented today (21st March) with the launch of the world’s most pioneering, industry scale, fully digitally enabled, forging research platform at the University of Strathclyde’s Advanced Forning Research Centre (AFRC), part of the National Manufacturing Institute Scotland (NMIS).

Strathclyde cyber security research group gains Centre of Excellence status

StrathCyber, the Cyber Security Research Group at the University of Strathclyde has gained Academic Centre of Excellence status from the UK Government.

The status has been conferred by the Government’s National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) and EPSRC, in recognition of the quality of the Strathclyde centre’s research and impact.

The site was nominated to be considered for designation by a member of the public as part of HES’s ‘Designed Landscapes of the Recent Past’ project, an initiative to identify and champion Scotland’s remarkable modern gardens and designed landscapes.
